It looks like we’re all trying to get a lot done before the holiday season. This week I had to be a bit more selective about what to include in the newsletter. Normally I share everything, but this time I did some curation (you can still find all the updates on AIForNewsroom.in), otherwise the newsletter will be endless.
One of the most important developments this week: from 2 August 2026, the European Commission’s AI Office, together with national authorities, will begin enforcing the AI Act. I think this is good news. Transparency is essential, especially now that AI-generated content (and AI slop as well) has become increasingly normalized. Organizations that fail to meet the AI Act’s transparency requirements for AI-generated content could face fines of up to €15 million or 3% of their worldwide annual turnover.
